How to sell retail to major fleets. Study it. Memorize it. You might want to bring a calculator to your meetings to calculate their savings and.. all the commissions you will be making.
Get The Appointment -
Research companies online and make the calls to get in the door. Your goal is to get these companies to test this product for a month on their fleets. Once they use them, they are going to want to buy them, so that is the easy part. When you call a company, you’ll be greeted with that first hurtle we all know and love – the secretary! Here’s a pitch that gets you past the gate-keeper to the next level.
Hello (Secretary), I’d like to talk to your boss, Mr. CEO, for six minutes. I have something that might put a smile on his face. I’d like to tell him how your company can save 20% on fuel this month on ten of your trucks while erasing their carbon footprint. If at the end of the six minutes he or she, for whatever reason, sends me on my way, all they are out is six minutes. But, I think saving thousands of dollars this month in fuel just might be something he wants to hear about. Boy, your boss is going to love you for brining this call to his attention.
Outline For Your Pitch -
1. Approach major trucking companies with large fleets. Let them know that you would like six minutes time of the person in charge of your trucking companies financial division. Tell them - I would like to offer the company a FREE savings of at least 20% for one month on ten trucks. The only cost to them will be an oil change. However, that cost will be quickly returned when they save thousands of dollars that month in fuel. Additionally, I would like to show them my real interest here – How they can, not only save 20% annually on fuel costs, but how they can be pioneers in the trucking industry by having an invisible carbon footprint… in other words, our product, the E.D.G.E., will reduce their toxic emissions to zero.
2. Once in the door, explain to the C.E.O. that on a fleet of, let’s say, 250 trucks, we can save their company $10,000 per truck annually – that’s 2.5 Million U.S. dollars per year. Not only that, but each of their trucks will have zero emissions as a by-product of applying our device, which will also earn them a tax credit on each truck. That, by the way, pays for our service leaving an additional $1,900 in your pocket the first year. The following year, you will get the whole $2,500, because our product is already paid for. You will have their attention!
3. Tell them, I want to show you how much you can save, but I have three questions I’d like to ask you -
A. How many trucks they have in your company?
Because each semi requires two E.D.G.E.’s per truck, one for each tank, and a third if it has a refrigerated trailer that runs on another tank. This will give you an idea of how many E.D.G.E.’s they will need. So, in this case, 250 trucks will amount to at least 500 E.D.G.E.’s. Then, multiply that by $100 profit full retail, and you know what they will need to spend. You now know this will be a $50,000.00 commission. Ponder this, a truck company with a thousand trucks will amount to a $200,000.00 commission.
B. What are their fuel costs per year?
By doing this, it preps the decision maker to understand how much impact the E.D.G.E. will have on his annual bottom-line. Based on the 250 truck sample, if each driver spends $3.00 per gallon on fuel on a truck that averages 4 ½ miles per gallon and a tank with a 300 gallon capacity, they will save, at least $150.00 to $200.00 per tank. They will increase their mileage by 20% or more – giving them 1 to 2 extra miles per gallon. Ask them, if we are only half correct, what does that mean to their bottom-line, stock price, etc…?
C. How many gallons of fuel did your company use last year?
Let’s say they tell you they spent $3,000,000.00. Take 3,000,000 and divide by 3.00 per gallon. That’s 1,000,000 gallons. Let’s do the math – You tell them you can save them .50 per gallon. Fifty cents per gallon saving on a 1,000,000 gallons is $500,000.00. Ask him, is he willing to pay $150,000.00 on 500 E.D.G.E. systems to save $350,000? Remind them at that point that this is good for three years, so in three years they will save 1,350,000.00 with a one time investment of $150,000. How many trucks can they add to their fleet with those numbers?
4. Next, let them know what you want. You want to save them 20% on fuel and reduce their emissions to zero for one month. All you would like in return is a copy of their Qualcomm reports for those ten trucks at the end of thirty days. The only cost to them will be one oil change. You are not asking them to buy the device. However, you can tell them what you expect will happen – That at the end of that month, they will have undeniable evidence of the efficiency of the E.D.G.E and that steam is being emitted from their smoke stacks instead of toxic fumes and that they will want to buy the E.D.G.E. systems for their fleet. They will clearly be able to see the potential annual savings. Impart that if they chose not to purchase the systems at the end of that month, you will thank them for the Qualcomm reports and will go on your merry way… to save another fleet of trucks.
5. They will ask you some questions about E.D.G.E. –
QUESTIONS -
A. What is it?
B. How does it work?
C. Does it really get rid of the emissions?
D. How long it will last for?
E. You asked me to get an oil change. Why?
F. Will it damage my engine?
ANSWERS -
A. E.D.G.E. is sticker that is applied to the fuel tank.
B. It is a sticker encoded with energy that neutralizes toxins in fuel. How? We don't know how electricity works, or do we just turn on a switch and the light bulb works? All we know is that IT WORKS! It’s energy medicine for your engine.
C. Yes. You know that scent of steam when you open the door to your dryer after a load of laundry? Yeah, it smells about like that, minus the Bounce. The increase in fuel efficiency is due to the decrease in emissions.
D. You will enjoy saving for three years. It will lose strength after 36 months.
E. E.D.G.E cleans out your engine. All the build up and debris of years of use will end up in the oil. People have said to me after a few tanks of fuel – My mileage is getting worse. Then I tell them this simple fact – that means it’s working. E.D.G.E. has cleaned out the engine and gas line. All that is needed then is an oil change. After that point, heavy cars have been known to be as responsive as race cars and trucks drive smoothly with better performance.
F. No. Your vehicles life will be extended – think of it as good nutrition and a detox. It increases the lifespan through healthy living.
When they agree to participate in our test, have them sign the agreement. Explain that it is a contract where they agree to return the E.D.G.E systems at the end of thirty days and provide for us their testing reports. Let them know that you are excited about this product. This product can be the hottest product in the country. This product should get every award in the country. It’s unbelievable!
6. Congratulations. You may have landed a major client in six minutes.
